WILMAPCO Invites the Public to Participate in the Development of Several Land Use and Transportation Plans

WILMAPCO Invites the Public to Participate in the Development of Several Land Use and Transportation Plans for Delaware and Maryland at
Our Town,
Wednesday, November 17, 2010
4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Newark, DE – The Wilmington Area Planning Council (WILMAPCO),  in partnership with  Delaware Department of Transportation, Maryland Department of Planning, New Castle County Planning, and the Delaware Office of State Planning, invite citizens and organizations from Delaware and Maryland to take part in a groundbreaking event.

Attendees will have the opportunity to share their values and ideas about the future of land use and transportation in Delaware
and Maryland at Our Town.  This year’s Our Town grew out of WILMAPCO’s desire to provide the opportunity for community leaders and regional stakeholders to learn about and affect a variety of land use and transportation plans, including WILMAPCO’s 2040 Regional Transportation (RTP) update.

The RTP sets the goals and priorities for transportation in our region.  Our Town provides a forum for decisions on transportation investments. The input gathered from Our Town will guide the development of WILMAPCO’s federally mandated, financially reasonable 2040 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) update.

Our Town will be held on November 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Embassy Suites Hotel located at 654 South College Avenue in Newark (across from the Bob Carpenter Center).  Admission is free, but registration is required.  To register, please visit www.wilmapco.org/our-town, or call (302) 737-6205, or toll free from Cecil County at (888) 808-7088.
